GEAR CRUSH WITH VERITE

VÉRITÉ made a grand arrival in the alt-pop world with her debut single "Strange Enough", a track that became the #1 most viral on Twitter and crowned her as the #1 artist on Hype Machine. Not bad right? Currently at work on an album for 2015, VÉRITÉ took the time to talk about favorite subject, gear.

What Sparkplug gear are you crushing on?

This Wurlitzer Electric Piano in London.

How would you use it?

I would absolutely record with it.

What song of yours would you most like to hear it on?

"Heartbeat," definitely. Initially the song was written with a sound that emulated a wurlitzer, but wasn't the real thing. Also, on  stripped down versions of any of the tracks.

Is there a specific artist or song that first piqued your interest in this gear or sound?

Not in particular. I think that the sonic culture has shifted so far into the box that it's always a nice breath to have some real organic sounds. I feel like The National, Sharon Van Etten, St. Vincent & Bon Iver are a few of my favorite examples of artists who've really embraced this.
